Hurricane Rafael is now a Category 3 major storm.
National Hurricane Center forecasters say it's packing maximum sustained winds of 115 miles per hour as it approaches the coast of western Cuba.
While it is expected to turn to the northwest after it emerges into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico tonight, a Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for the lower and middle Florida Keys and the Dry Tortugas.
The Keys could see tropical storm conditions and one to three inches of rain.
The chance for direct impacts to the northern Gulf Coast are trending lower as models suggest Rafael will move west after entering the Gulf.
