Broome, Edwards In December Runoff For Mayor Of Baton Rouge

The race for mayor-president in East Baton Rouge Parish is headed for a runoff.

In Tuesday night's election, incumbent Sharon Weston Broome won 31 percent of the vote.

Her Republican challenger Sid Edwards picked up more than 33 percent, and Broome's fellow Democrat Ted James came in third at 28 percent.

The runoff election is scheduled for December 7.
