The Pelicans are planning to be without their key offseason acquistion for the foreseeable future.

ESPN is reporting that New Orleans guard Dejounte Murray suffered a fractured left hand during Wednesday's season-opening win over the Chicago Bulls.

Murray finished the game with 14 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds in his team debut after being acquired in an offseason trade with the Atlanta Hawks.

Murray appeared to suffer the injury with just over two minutes remaining in the game when he was fouled on a three-point attempt.

Brandon Ingram led the way with 33 points, seven rebounds and two steals in the 123-111 win. CJ McCollum finished with 23 points and five assists while knocking down 5-of-11 shots from three-point range.

The 1-0 Pelicans travel to play the Portland Trail Blazers tomorrow night.
