Milton Remains Dangerous Cat 4 Hurricane

Hurricane Milton is expected to stay a monster storm and expand in size as it heads towards Florida's west coast.

The latest update from the National Hurricane Center puts maximum sustained winds at 150 miles per hour. The center of the storm is about 520 miles southwest of Tampa, near where it's expected to make landfall tomorrow night.

Residents in the danger zone are urged to use today to finish making preparations and evacuate if ordered.

Early estimates from analysts say Hurricane Milton could cause as much as $175 billion in damages in a worst-case scenario, on top of the devastation that Hurricane Helene already has caused in the area.

The size of the potential damage will depend on the timing and location of Milton's landfall.
