Louisiana lawmakers are working to bring down the state's auto insurance rates, which are the highest in the nation.
Republican Sen. Kirk Talbot is the chair of the Senate Insurance Committee, and he says they're going to meet every month until the next legislative session. By then, Talbot says they'll likely come up with "a package of bills" to put before the legislature.
Four other legislative committees are also focusing on the problem.
Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple is reportedly in favor of calling a special session to address the issue.
