Louisiana's top officials are going to bat for the state's new law requiring the display of the Ten Commandments in public classrooms.

At a news conference on Monday, Attorney General Liz Murrill said she's asking a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit by the ACLU, which she says was filed prematurely.

Gov. Jeff Landry joined Murrill in saying they're ready to defend the Ten Commandments law in federal court if it becomes necessary.
