Eastern Caribbean Becomes Latest Area To Watch In The Tropics

The National Hurricane Center has highlighted a system near the Windward Islands as having the potential for tropical development.

"Any development of this system should be slow to occur during the next couple of days while the system moves westward over the eastern Caribbean Sea," the NHC's Dr. Wallace Hogsett wrote in a tropical weather outlook Monday afternoon. "Environmental conditions are expected to become more conducive for development later this week as the system moves across the western Caribbean Sea or the southern Gulf of Mexico."

There is no immediate threat to Louisiana. Hurricane season ends November 30.
