A candidate for the Port Allen city council is now running unopposed.

April King had sued her opponent, Shelton Berry, claiming he wasn't eligible to run. A West Baton Rouge judge agreed on Tuesday, removing Berry from the November ballot for not meeting a one-year residency requirement.

King, a Democrat, and Berry, an independent, were running to replace Brandon Brown, another Democrat, in the District 4 seat.
