The man who killed former Saints' star defensive end Will Smith has had his prison sentence reduced.
A 25-year sentence for Cardell Hayes was reduced to 22 years and two months by a Louisiana judge who wanted to give Hayes credit for time served at his home leading up to his latest trial.
The 36-year-old was sentenced earlier this year for manslaughter for fatally shooting Smith in a road rage incident back in 2016.
