Louisiana State Police Trooper Resigns After DWI Arrest

The Louisiana State Police are announcing the retirement of a state trooper arrested for DWI last week.

A spokesman confirmed on Monday that 51-year-old Lt. Prentiss Bellue is no longer with the agency.

Baton Rouge police arrested Bellue after he crashed his personal car on I-10 near Perkins Road last Thursday night.

Bellue was off-duty at the time, and had just left a social function at the Louisiana State Troopers Association Convention.

He was charged with DWI, first offense.
