Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry quickly responded on X (formerly Twitter) after a possible shooting a rally held by former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania.

"It's a dark time in our nation. Now more than ever we need to pray for America and pray for President Trump," Landry posted.

Members of Louisiana's congressional delegation also called for prayers.

"Thanking God for protecting Pres. Trump and others tonight," posted U.S. Senator John Kennedy,

"Praying that President Trump's wounds are not serious," said U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy.

"There is never any place for political violence," posted U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise.

U.S. Rep. Garrett Graves thanked law enforcement for the quick response, adding "...this type of violence is always wrong."

The Trump campaign released a statement saying the former President was safe.
