A new state law takes effect in August that requires kids to turn off their cell phones and put them away while in the classroom.
The author of the law, Republican Sen. Beth Mizell of Franklinton, says school administrators who fail to enforce it will face no actual punishment.
School systems statewide are trying to figure out how to enforce the classroom cell phone ban.
The East Baton Rouge School System will present their plan to the school board on Thursday.
