Two state lawmakers are asking the Louisiana Supreme Court to investigate the East Baton Rouge Family Court.
State Senator Cleo Fields, a Baton Rouge Democrat, and State Rep. Kathy Edmonston, a Republican from Gonzales, want the justices to look into the family court's policies and decisions, and come up with ways the judges can serve families better.
Edmonston and Fields say the high court should get involved because of an increase in cases, a need for consistency in rulings, and the need for equal treatment among parties.
