State environmental officials are investigating a possible chemical leak in Iberville Parish that sent three people to the hospital on Monday.
Fumes from an unknown source near the Mississippi River drifted over the eastern part of the parish. There are several plants in the area, but none of them reported a leak.
Two of the people hospitalized were an older couple who live in the area, and the other was a firefighter responding to the scene. All three were treated and released.
The Louisiana State Police are investigating as well.
