Hurricane Repairs, ADA Upgrades Completed At Grand Isle Fishing Pier

Repairs are now complete to the Public Fishing Pier in Grand Isle.

Leaders of the Grand Isle Port Commission say Hurricane Ida damaged the pier in 2021.

The Port Commission says funding for repairs came from FEMA, the state, and Jefferson Parish.

In addition to taking care of storm damage, the repair project also made the pier compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The pier is at the end of Smith Lane on Bayou Rigaud.
