St. George Interim Mayor Says Setting Up New City Will Take Time

The interim mayor of St. George says it'll take time to get the new city's government up and running.

Interim Mayor Dustin Yates spoke on Wednesday at the city's Rotary Club.

A State Supreme Court ruling is still pending for the re-hearing requested by opponents of the breakaway city.

Until the court case is over, Yates says St. George's newly appointed leaders will continue with private swearing-in ceremonies and draw up a city council schedule.

Yates said he doesn't know when the first council meeting will be held.
