National Weather Service Says May Was Warmest On Record For Baton Rouge

The National Weather Service says last month was the warmest May on record for Baton Rouge, with an average temperature of 80.7 degrees.

The previous record was 79.4 degrees, set in 1933.

Forecasters also noted that for the months of March, April and May, 2024 was the warmest meterorological Spring on record for Baton Rouge with an average temperature of 72.6 degrees, besting the previous record of 72.1 degrees set in 2012.

The NWS says records go back to 1893 for Baton Rouge.
