Fire At Baton Rouge Storage Facility Ruled Arson

The Baton Rouge Fire Department is confirming that a two-alarm fire at Storage Rentals of America over the weekend was deliberately set.

Firefighters responded after 5 a.m. Sunday to the blaze at the self-storage facility on South Harrells Ferry Rd. near South Sherwood Forest Blvd.

The fire damaged nearly half of the storage units and their contents, and the other half suffered smoke and water damage. Two firefighters were hospitalized to be treated for dehydration.

No word yet about a suspect in the act of arson.
