A bill banning the sale of nitrous oxide to the general public in Louisiana is on its way to Gov. Jeff Landry's desk.
The state Senate passed the bill unanimously on Tuesday.
The bill allows automotive and industrial use of nitrous oxide, and makes exceptions for dentists and restaurants. But it removes the gas from smoke shops and corner stores statewide.
If Landry signs it, Louisiana will be the first state in the nation to ban nitrous oxide sales.
