A Baton Rouge police officer is a hometown hero for helping deliver a baby in a car.
Cpl. Jason Lee was working extra duty on Saturday when the driver of a passing car flagged him down on Greenwell Springs Road.
The driver told Lee that her daughter was about to have a baby and asked for a police escort to the hospital.
Lee started to provide the escort, but was soon asked to pull over to the shoulder of Florida Street.
The woman was going into labor, so Lee called for medical assistance and then helped deliver the baby boy.
"It was an experience neither of us will forget," wrote Lee in a BRPD Facebook post.
