Former Mayor Of Denham Springs Dies Of Cancer

Funeral arrangements are pending for a former mayor of Denham Springs.

Mayor Gerard Landry confirmed that his predecessor, Jimmy Durbin, died of cancer at his home on Wednesday. He was 76.

Durbin's three terms as mayor of Denham Springs ended in 2014, when he retired.

He was also a member of the Denham Springs City Council for more than ten years.

As mayor, Durbin helped bring new hotels and businesses to the city, including a major shopping center.
