Baton Rouge police are describing the killing of two men at an Airline Highway motel on Monday night as a justifiable homicide.
Investigators say 28-year-old Michael Beverly approached several men in the parking lot of the Fountain Motel at around 8 p.m. Monday.
Beverly pulled a gun and shot at them. One of the men shot back several times, killing Beverly and a second person whose name hasn't been released.
Police say the man who shot Beverly waited at the scene for police to arrive. He was detained but wasn't arrested.
