The U.S. Supreme Court is rejecting an appeal by a Black Lives Matter activist who's being sued by an officer injured during a BLM protest in Baton Rouge.

DeRay Mckesson was leading the protest in 2016 following the police killing of a black man when the police officer was hit in the head by a rock thrown by one of the rioters.

On Monday, the justices declined to hear Mckesson's appeal to drop the lawsuit, but didn't rule whether a protest leader can be sued for an injury caused by somebody else.
