Sentencing awaits a former Baton Rouge police officer who was found guilty on Tuesday of malfeasance in office.
Donald Steele waived his right to a jury trial on Monday in favor of a bench trial before a judge.
Steele pulled over a female student near LSU in June 2021 and offered not to arrest her for DWI in exchange for sexual favors.
He was later indicted for malfeasance in office and second-degree kidnapping, and was fired from the police force.
The judge found him not guilty of the kidnapping charge.
