Erik James Brown, a recurring face on Discovery's Deadliest Catch, was arrested over the weekend in the Florida Keys, according to WPLG.
Monroe County deputies arrested the 40-year-old reality TV star around 9 p.m. Saturday (March 9) in Stock Island for two counts of probation violation. No other details were released about Brown's weekend arrest.
The Captiva Island native debuted during Season 15 of the popular reality show. Brown has been a member of Captain "Wild" Bill Wichrowski's Summer Bay crew for at least four years, per Looper. The fisherman returned to Deadliest Catch in Season 19, which aired from April 2023 to September 2023.
Reporters unearthed Brown's previous run-ins with the law, such as his 2018 arrest for a marijuana growth operation in Sanibel Island and domestic violence cases. In October 2020, Brown was arrested and charged with assault, battery, tampering with evidence, and marijuana possession, according to Keys News. The 20-year-old female victim reportedly told deputies she and Brown were arguing before he got violent, alleging he threw items at her and even choked her.
The tattooed television personality has over 5,000 followers across his social media platforms. His status regarding future appearances on the reality show remains unknown.
Online jail records show he's still in custody as of Tuesday (March 12). Brown's arraignment hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on April 1.
