Louisiana State Police say they seized more than 60 guns in the French Quarter during Mardi Gras.
Troopers in cooperation with agents of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries rounded up 57 illegally carried guns on Bourbon Street, and another seven seized during patrols in the French Quarter.
State police officials say 130 troopers were deployed across New Orleans throughout the season. They kept an eye on things in the French Quarter, the Central Business District, and parade routes in the city.
