A Northwestern State University student will represent Louisiana in the Miss America pageant on Sunday.
Makenzie Scroggs is a dance major from Marksville who was recently crowned Miss Louisiana in Monroe.
She's also earned the title of Miss Natchitoches City of Lights.
University officials say Scroggs is the second Miss Louisiana from NSU in the past six years. Holli' Conway took the title in 2018.
