The Louisiana legislature will meet in special session next week to redraw the congressional districts of Louisiana.

On his first day in office, Gov. Jeff Landry called for the special session to redraw the district map as ordered by a federal appeals court.

The session will convene on Monday and may last until Tuesday of the following week.

Landry also issued two executive orders.

The first vetoed new education standards that had been supported by Gov. John Bel Edwards. The second formally established the office of the First Lady.
