Insurance Commissioner-elect Tim Temple says Louisiana's legislature should meet in special session to address the state's insurance crisis.
A series of hurricanes in recent years has driven home insurers out of business or out of the state.
Temple says he's contacted Governor-elect Jeff Landry about holding a special session in January after the new legislature is sworn in.
He says insurance companies write most of their new policies at the start of each year and stop writing them as hurricane season approaches.
