A vote to fill the House speakership is set for sometime this week.
Two candidates have stepped up to fill the role including Ohio Republican Jim Jordan and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise of Lousiana.
Oklahoma congressman Kevin Hern announced over the weekend he will not be running.
The vote could happen as soon as Wednesday after two days of debate and meetings.
In January, it took former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy 15 rounds of voting to gain the needed votes to secure the speakership.
