The Baton Rouge Police Department is releasing more information about the arrest warrants issued for four officers yesterday.
Chief Murphy Paul said the officers were trying to cover up body camera footage that showed misconduct during an arrest in 2020.
The camera automatically turned on after an officer used his taser.
The officers are reportedly linked to the investigation into the Brave Cave, which was the name given to a warehouse where members of the BRPD Street Crimes Unit allegedly beat and unlawfully searched suspects.
Three officers were released on bond Thursday night after turning themselves in.
Deputy Chief Troy Lawrence Sr., Officer Jesse Barcelona, and Officer Todd Thomas face charges including malfeasance, theft, battery, and obstruction.
Sgt. Douglas Chustz is charged with malfeasance and is expected to turn himself in.
