UNC Shooting Suspect Graduated From LSU

University Of North Carolina Switches To All Remote Learning After Spike In Coronavirus Rates

The suspect accused of killing a faculty member at the University of North Carolina is identified as a former LSU student.

Tailei Qi is charged with first-degree murder and possession of a gun on educational property for the fatal shooting on Monday.

According to The Reveille, Qi earned a master's degree from LSU in December 2021 before attending UNC the following January.

The faculty member who was killed was identified as an associate professor who also served as Qi's academic advisor.

Qi made his first court appearance on Tuesday.
