Baton Rouge Metro Council Considering Trash Collection Rate Change

The East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Council could lower the cost of trash collection before it goes up later this year.

The council approved an increase to $35 a month last December, but now some members are hoping to renegotiate and bring it down.

Any changes need to be passed before September 1, when the city-parish's contract with Republic Services must be signed.
