Two Louisiana educators are being honored.
Louisiana celebrated the state's 2024 teacher and principal of the year Saturday night at the 17th annual Cecil J. Picard Educator Excellence Awards Gala in New Orleans.
Kylie Altier was named the state's teacher of the year while Tia Mechelle Trahan was honored as the state's principal of the year.
Altier teaches first grade at Buchanan Elementary School in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Trahan is the principal at Lafayette Middle School in Lafayette.
