A veto override session starts today in the state capitol.

Republican lawmakers are taking aim at Gov. John Bel Edwards's vetoes of LGBTQ bills, elements of the state budget, and a couple of tax bills.

Some legislators are focused on re-election, but others, who are term-limited, no longer face political pressure from voters.

The situation makes it hard to predict what vetoes will be overturned.

The five-day veto session gets started around noon today.
