State leaders are trying to get FEMA to commit to transparency concerning flood insurance premiums in Louisiana.
Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy introduced a bill on Tuesday to reform the National Flood Insurance Program.
Cassidy says up to a quarter of the people enrolled in the program may drop their coverage because of the rate hikes.
Louisiana lawmakers have signed a resolution urging the state attorney general and 30 parish presidents to take FEMA to court to get answers about how they calculate premium increases.
