The Louisiana Department of Health says fewer children in the state are being vaccinated.
State Health Officer Dr. Joseph Kanter said on Monday that routine annual immunizations for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade have decreased over the past two years.
Dr. Kanter says many people may have been confused during the pandemic by uncertainties about the coronavirus vaccines.
The latest state budget cut $100 million from the health department, which Gov. John Bel Edwards vetoed.
