A proposed bill revising concealed-carry law will go before the full Senate after passing out of a Senate committee on Tuesday.

The bill would allow Louisiana residents age 21 and older to carry a concealed firearm without a permit and also does away with all background check and training requirements for concealed carry in Louisiana.

Opponents worry that passage of the bill would lead to more violent crime.

Second Amendment supporters point out that numerous other states have passed similar "constitutional carry" laws.
