Nearly 800 employees of Ochsner Health in Louisiana and Mississippi are about to be laid off.
Ochsner CEO Pete November notified staff about the impending layoffs in a message on Thursday.
November stated that 770 employees, or about two percent of the company's workforce, will be out of work.
Ochsner officials say the layoffs won't affect doctors, nurses, and other hands-on staff. The cuts will mostly involve management, administration, and clerical personnel.
Ochsner blamed a weak economy and increased supply costs.
