New Orleans-born actor Wendell Pierce is nominated for best actor in Broadway's Tony awards.
Pierce says he cried real tears when he got the word on Tuesday of his nomination for his performance as Willy Loman in the revival of "Death of a Salesman."
The 59-year-old performer has won a Tony before as a producer, but this is his first time to be nominated as an actor on Broadway.
Pierce is best known for his TV roles on HBO and Amazon Studios.
