Deputies are trying to find several women who reportedly used pepper spray on employees of a liquor store where they were shoplifting.

The attempted robbery happened Wednesday evening at Total Wine on Siegen Lane.

East Baton Rouge Parish deputies say at least four women loaded several shopping carts with alcohol and tried to leave the store without paying.

When employees confronted them, the women squirted them with pepper spray and then drove away.

Deputies aren't sure the women got away with anything.
