Democrats aren't on board with House Majority Leader Steve Scalise's proposed energy bill.

The Louisiana Republican led the House of Representatives to pass the Lower Energy Costs Act on Thursday.

The bill passed with a vote of 225 to 204 with most Democrats voting against it.

Sen. Bill Cassidy says he doesn't expect the Biden White House to accept the bill, but Republicans can use it as a place to start negotiations.

Louisiana's other Republican Senator, John Kennedy, introduced the act's companion bill to the U.S. Senate.
