The Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education says every public school in the state should have a school resource officer.
This week, members of the agency unanimously passed a resolution urging public schools to partner with local police to provide a school resource officer for every campus.
Another resolution asks the state legislature to provide the necessary funding.
The resolution didn't name a figure or say whether the funds would come from state revenue or local taxes.
