Edith Walker To Be Superintendent Of Ascension Parish Schools

The Ascension Parish School Board is naming its new superintendent.

Board members voted unanimously on Tuesday to offer the job to Dr. Edith Walker.

Walker's appointment to the position is pending contract approval, which is expected at the next school board meeting in two weeks.

Walker has been with Ascension Public Schools for 21 years, and has been the chief instructional director since 2020.
