FAA Changes Preliminary Cause Of BRPD Helicopter Crash

The FAA says the cause of the helicopter crash that killed two Baton Rouge police officers on Sunday is still unknown.

The agency initially said the helicopter hit a tree before it went down in a field but now says the chopper crashed under "unknown circumstances."

The crash near Port Allen killed Sgt. David Poirrier and Cpl. Scotty Canezaro.

A memorial service will be held for them next Thursday at Istrouma Baptist Church.
