The Gonzales City Council is considering an ordinance to allow people to operate golf carts in certain areas within the city limits.
Mayor Barney Arceneaux says the golf carts would only be allowed in what's referred to as Traditional Neighborhood Developments and Planned Unit Developments, which amounts to three different mixed-use neighborhoods that are now under construction.
The proposed ordinance was introduced at Monday's City Council meeting.
Council members will vote on it at their next meeting in April.
