EBR Schools Announces Upcoming Random Drug, Weapon Searches By K-9s

The East Baton Rouge Parish School System says K-9 officers will soon conduct random searches for drugs and weapons at schools.

The school district's officials made the announcement Monday.

They said high schools and middle schools will be searched based on security information.

Since some kids are afraid of dogs, the K-9 officers won't interact with students up close.

Officials stated that there won't be a publicly published schedule for the searches.
