Louisiana regulators' attempt to crack down on consumable hemp products is at least temporarily blocked.

19th Judicial District Judge Trudy White this week barred the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control from taking many products retailers call legal THC off store shelves.

The temporary injunction White granted blocks the tighter enforcement until a hearing on April 6.

It's uncertain which judge will take over the case and conduct that hearing since White is scheduled to stop down from the bench on April 1.

In January, ATC vowed to crack down on consumable hemp products, notifying 2,500 retailers of planned enforcement.

Hemp manufacturers and distributors filed two lawsuits arguing that the agency had overstepped its authority.
