East Baton Rouge Parish leaders are looking at enacting new laws to cut off underage drinking including possibly not allowing people under 21 from going into bars.

Other possibilities include raising fines for businesses that allow underage drinking, requiring better ID-checking technology, and requiring point-of-sale ID checks.

People over 18 but younger than 21 are currently allowed to enter bars and many near LSU provide wristbands or stamps to identify people under the drinking age.
