Baton Rouge police say a chase last night ended in a crash that killed an innocent bystander.

Authorities said officers were pursing a car that refused to pull over for a traffic stop when the suspect's vehicle collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of North Acadian Thruway and Fairfields Avenue.

The driver of the truck, identified as 56-year-old Victor Duncan, was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The suspect, who has not been identified, is also in the hospital with serious injuries.
